Kerrville Police Searching for Murder Suspect

Gabriel Rene Aleman

UPDATE:  Aleman has been captured.

Original:

The Kerrville Police Department is actively searching for Gabriel Rene Aleman, 29, following an overnight shooting resulting in the death of a woman.

On Saturday, July 20, 2024, at approximately 1:22 a.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment in the 2800 block of Hunt Street. Deanna Leann Arispe, 36, an occupant of the apartment, was struck by gunfire. She was transported to Peterson Regional Medical Center, where she was declared deceased.

Initial investigations revealed that a male suspect fired into the apartment through the front door, striking Arispe. The apartment was occupied by three children and two adults, but no one else was injured in the shooting. Video footage from a nearby doorbell camera led detectives to identify the suspect as Gabriel Rene Aleman, 29, of Kerrville. A warrant for Murder, under Texas Penal Code 19.02, was obtained for Aleman with a $1,000,000 bond.

Detectives from the Kerrville Police Department Special Investigations Unit located Aleman’s vehicle at a residence in the 100 block of South Michon Drive. A search warrant was executed by the Tactical Response Team, consisting of operators from the Kerrville Police Department, Fredericksburg Police Department, and Boerne Police Department. Aleman was not found at the residence and is currently at large.

Aleman is described as 6’05” and 205 pounds, with black, shoulder-length hair, a brown beard, brown eyes, and extensive tattoos. He has a Green Bay Packer "G" under his left eye, names in cursive above both eyebrows, a starburst under his right eye, and tattoos on his neck, arms, and hands. Aleman is considered armed and dangerous.

The Kerrville Police Department urges anyone with information regarding Aleman’s whereabouts to contact them immediately. Assisting or hiding him could result in criminal charges.

Investigators are continuing to gather additional facts in this case. The Kerrville Police Department thanks the Boerne Police Department and Fredericksburg Police Department for their assistance.
