Bandera High School cheerleaders have been actively involved in community service throughout the summer. Their efforts included performing at the Nursing and Rehab Center, participating in the Back to School Bash, attending New Teacher Orientation, BISD Staff Convocation, and the BEC Annual Meeting, in addition to numerous practices and summer camps.
Their hard work paid off at the UCA camp held at Angelo State University, where the team excelled in competitions. The Bandera High School cheerleading squads, consisting of the youngest and least experienced group of varsity and JV cheerleaders, achieved notable success. The JV squad won first place, while the Varsity squad secured second place in their respective individual categories. The teams received the spirit stick each night and the coveted Banana on Day 2. Additionally, the cheerleaders were honored with the Leadership Award, recognizing their exemplary teamwork and leadership, as chosen by the UCA staff.
Three cheerleaders were also named All-American and will be invited to perform in a major event or parade representing Bandera High School. The cheerleaders are now preparing for the upcoming football season, enthusiastic and ready to support the Bulldogs.
