Two separate police pursuits along Interstate 35 ended with the apprehension of four suspects in New Braunfels on Monday, November 18, 2024.
The first incident began at approximately 10:15 a.m. when New Braunfels Police responded to a reported burglary in the 2600 block of White Wing Way. Officers arrived as two male suspects fled in a stolen white Kia passenger car. The chase proceeded northbound on I-35 and concluded on the northbound frontage road near Buc-ee’s after the suspect vehicle collided with another car.
Following the crash, the suspects attempted to escape on foot but were quickly apprehended. Both were taken to the Comal County Jail, though one was later transported to a local hospital for a minor injury sustained during the crash. One of the suspects was found to have an active Capital Murder warrant out of Houston. Local charges include Evading in a Vehicle and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, with additional charges pending.
The second pursuit began around noon in Guadalupe County and extended into New Braunfels, where local officers assisted. The chase ended near the Engel Road turnaround, resulting in the capture of two additional male suspects. The Texas Department of Public Safety is leading the investigation into this pursuit. Further details will be provided by DPS or Guadalupe County authorities.
No significant injuries were reported in either incident.
