The Kerrville City Council has approved a resolution to hold a general election on Saturday, May 3, 2025, for the positions of Councilmember Place 1 and Councilmember Place 2. The election will take place at the Municipal Court building, located at 301 McFarland St., due to extensive roofing reconstruction at the Cailloux Theater during the election period.
Early voting will begin on April 22, 2025, and continue through April 29, 2025.
Candidates interested in running for the city council can obtain application packets starting Monday, January 6, 2025, from the city secretary’s office at City Hall, 701 Main St. The filing period begins Wednesday, January 15, 2025, and ends Friday, February 14, 2025, at 5 p.m.
To qualify, candidates must be registered voters of the city and meet the requirements specified in the Texas Election Code and the Kerrville city charter. The filing fee is $100, which can be waived if the candidate submits a petition with at least 100 registered voters' signatures.
Current Councilmembers Delayne Sigerman (Place 1) and Jeff Harris (Place 2) will be up for re-election. For more details, contact the city secretary’s office at (830) 258-1117 or (830) 258-1118.
