On December 8th, the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) was notified by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office that Sergeant Michael Guzman, a 23-year veteran of the department, was arrested on charges of Assault Bodily Injury-Family while off-duty.
Guzman, who is assigned to SAPD’s Bike Patrol Unit, has been placed on Administrative Duty as the department conducts an internal investigation into the incident. The SAPD emphasized that the investigation is administrative in nature, and inquiries regarding the criminal investigation should be directed to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
