Members of the Hill Country Regional Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) participated in the 35th annual Hostage Negotiation Competition hosted by Texas State University last week.
The Hill Country Regional CNT, which includes officers from the Kerrville Police Department, Boerne Police Department, and Fredericksburg Texas Police Department, joined 33 teams in the two-day competition. The event featured intense, reality-based scenarios designed to test the skills of negotiators in high-pressure situations.
This year’s team was represented by Boerne Police Department officers Rebecca Foley, Ed Collazo, and Chris Yeagley, along with Kerrville Police Department officers Cat Larson, Taylor Robertson, Justin Gonzales, and Jacob Trevino.
The competition provided an opportunity for participants to enhance their training, apply negotiation tactics in realistic scenarios, and exchange insights with other teams from across the region.
