The Corpus Christi Police Department has confirmed the arrest of one of its officers, Daniel Verduzco, by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Verduzco was taken into custody on Sunday, January 19, 2025, and charged with Coercion and Enticement under 18 U.S. Code 2422.
The Corpus Christi Police Department stated it is fully cooperating with the DHS-led investigation. Verduzco has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal review, which could result in disciplinary actions, including termination.
