On Friday, January 24, 2025, at 2:54 p.m., Corpus Christi police officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 1100 block of Florida Drive. Upon arrival, officers established a perimeter around the residence and safely called out two individuals from inside the home, detaining them without incident.
No injuries were reported during the incident. After several hours of investigation, officers identified one of the detained individuals as 38-year-old Julio Soliz. Witness statements and evidence collected at the scene revealed that Soliz had fired a weapon both inside and outside the residence.
Soliz was arrested on charges of Deadly Conduct-Discharge Firearm and transported to the City Detention Center for booking. A firearm was recovered from the residence as part of the investigation.
