A 14-year-old male was taken into custody after allegedly shooting a juvenile female inside a residence on Canna Lily Circle on Tuesday, January 28.
The Hays County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call reporting suspicious circumstances at approximately 4:56 p.m. Deputies determined that the male juvenile had discharged a firearm, striking the female. Despite life-saving efforts, she succumbed to her injuries.
Both juveniles lived in the home. The male was transported to the Hays County Juvenile Detention Center.
On January 29, the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy and ruled the manner of death as homicide.
Authorities say the investigation remains active, and no further details are available at this time.
The Hays County Sheriff’s Office extended condolences to the victim’s family and thanked first responders for their efforts.
