Bandera County Sheriff’s Criminal Interdiction Unit Makes Multiple Arrests in First Two Weeks

On February 1, 2025, the Bandera County Sheriff’s Office launched the Criminal Interdiction Unit (CIU) to combat illegal narcotics, human trafficking, and organized criminal activity using specialized enforcement techniques.

In its first 14 days of operation, the CIU reported multiple arrests and seizures, including:

  • Seven individuals arrested on outstanding warrants, facing eight felony and six misdemeanor charges.
  • Four individuals arrested for crimes committed in officers’ presence, with five felony narcotics charges, two other felony charges, one misdemeanor narcotics charge, and two other misdemeanor charges.
  • Seizure of over 60 grams of illegal narcotics.
  • Seizure of a motorcycle used in the commission of crimes.
  • Recovery of a stolen vehicle.
  • Recovery of over 100 documents containing personal information, including government IDs, banking details, Social Security numbers, and other records believed to be linked to identity theft and fraud.

Sheriff Josh Teitge praised the unit’s early success, emphasizing the department’s commitment to keeping the community safe.
