Seguin CASE Unit Arrests 20-Year-Old in Altered Fully Automatic Glock Probe

The Seguin Police Department CASE Unit concluded a month-long investigation linked to several drive-by shootings in January 2025 with the arrest of 20-year-old Christopher Montealvo of Seguin. Officers recovered an altered Glock 27, a 40-caliber handgun modified to function as a fully automatic weapon—a Prohibited Weapon in the State of Texas without the required permits or license.

The investigation, which included proactive efforts targeting weapon violations and was aided by Guadalupe County SIB investigators with surveillance and intelligence, led to a traffic stop on February 19, 2025, at approximately 3:30 PM on the 5000 block of IH 10 W access road. Montealvo, identified as a passenger in the vehicle, was found in possession of the altered machine gun and a THC vapor cartridge.

Montealvo has been arrested and charged with Possession of a Prohibited Weapon (Machine Gun) felony of the 3rd degree, as well as Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 2 State Jail Felony. The Seguin Police Department CASE Unit will be referring the investigation to the appropriate Federal Agency for possible federal charges.

The department reiterated its commitment to proactively investigating and apprehending individuals involved in violent crimes to enhance the quality of life for Seguin residents.
