A traffic stop on I-35 in Kyle on the evening of April 21st led to the arrest of David McNair of Georgetown and the discovery of a significant quantity of illegal drugs and cash, according to the Hays County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies with the Criminal Interdiction Unit stopped McNair and a subsequent search of him and his vehicle revealed 256 grams of cocaine, fentanyl pills, digital scales, and baggies commonly used for drug distribution. Deputies also seized an amount of cash believed to be illicitly gained.
McNair was arrested and booked into the Hays County Jail on charges of Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1, a first-degree felony, and Possession of Controlled Substance PG 1B, a state jail felony.
The Hays County Sheriff's Office highlighted the increasing danger of drugs like cocaine being mixed with fentanyl, often unknowingly to the user, emphasizing the potentially deadly risks. They stated their deputies are committed to keeping dangerous drugs and dealers out of Hays County, whether in residential areas or along the highways.
