A 54-year-old man, identified as Scott Bender, was found dead following a shooting outside of Hunt in Kerr County on Tuesday evening.

According to the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and Kerrville EMS responded to a call in the 100 Block of Keagan Drive South, outside of Hunt, at approximately 8 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Bender deceased.

The Kerr County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and the Texas Rangers are investigating the death. Preliminary findings indicate that Bender was shot during a confrontation with a neighbor.

The investigation remains active, and upon its completion, the case will be referred to the 216th District Attorney’s Office.
