On Monday, August 7, 2023, at approximately 2:22 p.m., Austin's Emergency Communications Center received a call from someone at St. David's South Austin Medical Center stating a man had been dropped off with life-threatening gunshot wounds. APD Officers arrived at the hospital and located the victim, Gregory Orork, as he was receiving medical treatment. Orork died a short time later.
Homicide detectives believe the shooting happened in the 5400 block of Freidrich Lane, and a friend took Orork to the hospital immediately after the shooting. The investigation revealed that Orork was shot and killed during a robbery. The suspects were identified as Christian Alba and a male juvenile. The suspects then left the scene in a vehicle.
On August 9, 2023, a Capital Murder warrant was issued for Alba and another Capital Murder warrant for the juvenile suspect. On that same day, APD's Tactical Intelligence Unit - Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, located and arrested Christian Alba at the intersection of East William Cannon Drive and South Pleasant Valley Road. They also arrested the juvenile suspect at another location.
Alba is in the Travis County jail for Capital Murder. The juvenile suspect was taken to Gardner Betts Juvenile Center for Capital murder.
