On Monday, November 13th, 2023, at approximately 7:00 p.m., Victoria Police Department officers responded to a shots fired call in the 2200 block of East Red River at the Victoria College Continuing Education Center. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 30-year-old male in the parking lot with an apparent gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The unknown suspect had fled the area before officers arrived. As a precautionary measure, all buildings at Victoria College and the University of Houston-Victoria were placed on lockdown.
Authorities are actively searching the area for the suspect, and no other injuries have been reported at this time. The incident is currently under investigation by the Victoria College Police Department.
