On February 13, 2024, the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office arrested Christian Julian Hernandez, 18, of Kerrville, on a warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon following a road-rage incident involving multiple rounds fired on Highway 27 in western Kerr County on February 12.
Following further investigation into the shooting, Andrew Lee Valderez, 18, also from Kerrville, was charged with one count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Valderez was already in custody on one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance, PG 1 >=1g<4g. Bond for the Aggravated Assault charge was set at $100,000.
Isaiah Jeremiah Pena, 19, of Kerrville, was also arrested in connection with the shooting. Pena was booked into the Kerr County Jail on one count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and one count of Providing a False Statement, with bonds totaling $101,000. Pena voluntarily surrendered himself without incident on February 14, 2024.
Authorities have stated that additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation remains ongoing. It is emphasized that in all criminal cases, charges may be subject to modification prior to trial, and defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty.
