Rifle Reported Stolen from Vehicle After Peach Jamboree

On Sunday, June 23, 2024, around 11:55 p.m., a Gillespie County deputy responded to a report of a stolen rifle from a vehicle in Stonewall. The complainant stated that on the previous evening, June 22nd, he attended the Peach Jamboree before heading to a party at a residence. During the gathering, the complainant showed a Windham Weaponry AR-15 rifle with a Nikon 4.5x14 power scope to another attendee.

According to the complainant, after displaying the rifle, he placed it back under the seat of his pickup truck. The rifle remained there until the complainant left the party later that evening. Upon waking up the next morning, the complainant discovered that the rifle was missing from its place under the seat.

The investigation into the theft is ongoing.
