Stabbing Incident in New Braunfels Leaves Victim Hospitalized, Suspect at Large

On Monday, June 24, 2024, in New Braunfels, a stabbing incident occurred around noon near North Market Avenue and East San Antonio Street. The New Braunfels Police Department responded to the scene where they found a 55-year-old man from Canyon Lake with a slash wound to his upper body. Paramedics from New Braunfels Fire and EMS treated the victim before transporting him to a hospital in Kyle. The victim is reported to be in serious but stable condition.

According to preliminary investigations by NBPD detectives, the incident stemmed from a confrontation between the victim and the driver of another vehicle. Both individuals had exited their vehicles during a rolling disturbance. The suspect, described as an older white male with gray hair, allegedly confronted the victim with a machete-type knife. The suspect then fled the scene in a light-colored four-door pickup truck.
