Double Homicide Suspect Arrested En Route to Mexico

On the night of June 23, 2024, around 10:45 p.m., Houston Police Department (HPD) officers responded to a call at 1300 North Post Oak, where two people were found murdered in the parking lot of an apartment complex. Witnesses provided HPD with a description of the suspect and his vehicle.

Early the next morning, at approximately 12:15 a.m. on June 24, 2024, HPD notified the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office (VCSO) that they believed the suspect was heading south on Highway 59, attempting to flee to Mexico.

Victoria County deputies promptly responded and located the suspect’s vehicle on Highway 59 near Beck Road around 12:28 a.m. Deputies conducted a felony traffic stop and detained the driver, identified as Gustavo Flores, a 40-year-old Mexican national suspected of being in the United States illegally.

Flores was transported to the Victoria County Jail, where he is being held without bond on Capital Murder charges. He is awaiting extradition by the Houston Police Department.
