Vehicle Crashes into River Along Landa Park Drive in New Braunfels

On Thursday, July 25, at approximately 10 a.m., the New Braunfels Police and Fire departments responded to a report of a vehicle in the river along Landa Park Drive. According to initial reports, the driver was driving recklessly through Landa Park, lost control, and veered off the roadway into the water. No injuries have been reported at this time.

Fire crews have deployed a hazardous materials boom to contain and absorb any potential leaks into the river. The boom, a white device visible in the attached video and photo, will remain in the water for 24 hours to capture any materials floating on the surface.

The incident remains under investigation, and Landa Park Drive is currently closed. Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes. Authorities appreciate the public's patience as they manage the scene.
