Last week, the Kerr County Sheriff's Office (KCSO), in collaboration with various state and local agencies, conducted a multi-day operation targeting individuals soliciting prostitution and attempting sex crimes against minors. The operation involved communication with dozens of individuals across the region seeking prostitutes or offering services, some of which included arrangements with underage individuals.
A total of twenty suspects were arrested during the operation after engaging with officers and attempting to meet what they believed to be adults or minors for sexual conduct. Agencies participating in the undercover operation included the KCSO Criminal Investigations Division, Special Operations Division, and Digital Forensics Unit, alongside the Boerne Police Department, Kendall County Sheriff's Office, and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Among those arrested by the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office were:
- Gabriel Lopez Segundo, 40, of Fredericksburg, charged with Solicitation of Prostitution and placed on an immigration hold. Segundo was booked into the Kerr County Jail.
- Daniel Paul Pfeiffer, 66, of Fredericksburg, charged with Solicitation of Prostitution. Pfeiffer was booked into the Kerr County Jail with bond set at $7,500.
- Jason Schoch, 47, of Boerne, charged with Solicitation of Prostitution. Schoch was booked into the Kerr County Jail with bond set at $5,000.
- Fernando Vasques, 30, of San Antonio, charged with Solicitation of Prostitution. Vasquez was booked into the Kerr County Jail with bond set at $5,000.
- Elijah Ray Hardy, 35, of Bandera, charged with Solicitation of Prostitution. Hardy was booked into the Kerr County Jail with bond set at $5,000.
- Christian Eduardo Renteria-Calixto, 28, of Boerne, charged with Solicitation of Prostitution. Renteria-Calixto was booked into the Kerr County Jail with bond set at $5,000.
- Presley James Hartig, 25, of Kerrville, charged with Solicitation of Prostitution and Online Solicitation of a Minor. Hartig was booked into the Kerr County Jail with bond set at $20,000.
Charges may be added or modified prior to trial, and all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Sheriff Larry Leitha stated, “We are proud to be part of this multi-agency team that is taking clear action against prostitution and sex trafficking in our community. Our teams will continue our work solo and in concert with other agencies to intercept those involved in the sex trade at all levels.”
This operation is part of an ongoing campaign to combat human trafficking and sex trafficking, supported by both state and county initiatives. The Kerr County Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude to its inter-agency partners for their professionalism and collaboration, which contributed to the success of the operation.
