Laredo Police Arrest 15-Year-Old for Threatening Nixon High School

On Tuesday night, August 27th, at approximately 10:30 PM, Laredo Crime Stoppers received a tip about a potential shooting threat at Nixon High School. The tip was immediately reported to the Laredo Police Department, prompting a swift investigation.

Laredo Police Investigators worked through the night to identify the individual responsible for the threat. In the early hours of Wednesday morning, they located the suspect, a 15-year-old juvenile. The juvenile's parents cooperated fully with the investigation. A search of the residence revealed no weapons, and it was confirmed that the juvenile was no longer enrolled at Laredo Independent School District (LISD).

The juvenile was arrested and charged with terroristic threats causing fear of serious bodily injury, a third-degree felony. The suspect was transported to the Webb County Youth Village. The Laredo Police Department emphasized its commitment to prosecuting such threats to the fullest extent of the law.

The department also expressed gratitude to the anonymous tipster and Laredo Crime Stoppers for their prompt action, underscoring the importance of addressing threats to school safety with urgency.
