On September 27, 2024, the Cibolo Police Department arrested Yorllin Hernandez, a substitute teacher at Jordan Intermediate, on two counts of Injury to a Child following an investigation into physical altercations involving two students.
Hernandez, who was employed by third-party staffing company ESS, was temporarily assigned to the school when reports of the incidents surfaced. School administrators immediately contacted authorities, prompting an investigation by the Cibolo Police Department.
According to witness statements and evidence gathered, Hernandez physically assaulted two students in his care. The injuries sustained by the students were described as non-life-threatening.
Hernandez has since been removed from his position. “Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our children,” said Cibolo Police Chief Andres.
Hernandez was booked into the Guadalupe County Adult Detention Center, and the investigation remains ongoing.
