Suspects Break into Vehicle at Hays High School, Use Stolen ID for Bank Fraud

On September 21, 2024, two suspects were caught on surveillance footage breaking into a vehicle in the parking lot at Hays High School. The suspects shattered the passenger side window to gain entry. The victim's wallet was stolen from the vehicle, though two firearms left inside were not taken.

On October 8, 2024, a suspect attempted to use stolen identification and banking account information from the stolen wallet to access funds at Security State Bank and Trust in Bee Cave, Texas. Authorities believe the same individual may have made similar attempts at bank branches in Canyon Lake and New Braunfels.

Hays County investigators are asking the public for assistance in identifying the suspects.
