On the morning of October 17, 2024, at approximately 7:44 A.M., an officer at Green Valley Elementary requested additional backup after spotting a suspicious man in the school parking lot carrying a knife. The school was immediately placed on lockdown as a precaution. While securing the building, the officer lost sight of the suspect before other units could arrive.
Shortly after, the suspect was reported at Cibolo Valley Elementary, and Cibolo Police officers quickly responded, detaining him in the parking lot. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the man was carrying a sheetrock knife, which he intended to lend to a family member. The suspect was released after the incident, but charges have been referred to the Guadalupe District Attorney's Office for further review.
Thanks to the swift response of officers and collaboration with the Cibolo Police Department, the situation was safely resolved. There were no safety concerns for students or staff at either school. The investigation is ongoing, and any potential criminal charges are pending review by the Guadalupe District Attorney's Office.
