The Bandera High School speech and debate team achieved notable success at the Jack C Hays TFA tournament over the weekend. Senior Isabella Chapa and senior Micah McCreary both earned recognition as finalists in Congressional Debate. Sophomore Aiden Garcia also performed well, making it to the semifinals in novice Extemporaneous Speaking.
Special congratulations are in order for freshman Luke Parks, who secured fourth place in novice Extemporaneous Speaking. The full UIL academics, speech, and debate teams are set to travel to the student activities conference on the University of Texas campus this coming weekend in preparation for their first regional meet in November.
