On October 29, 2024, at around 6:20 p.m., Schertz Police Department responded to a report of a firearm inside a student’s vehicle on the grounds of Clemens High School, located at 1001 Elbel Road, where a school-sanctioned event was in progress. A concerned parent provided the tip to the School Resource Officer (SRO) present for event security. Schertz PD quickly dispatched an additional patrol officer to assist in the investigation.
Working closely with SCUC school administrators, officers identified the suspects involved. A firearm, later reported as stolen, was located in a backpack carried by one of the students. Officers also inspected the suspect’s vehicle, finding no additional weapons.
Two juveniles were arrested in connection with the incident. One juvenile faces charges of Weapon in Prohibited Places (2nd Degree Felony), Theft of a Firearm (State Jail Felony), and Terroristic Threat (3rd Degree Felony), while the other is charged with Terroristic Threats (3rd Degree Felony). No direct threat to the school, students, or staff has been identified as of now, according to Schertz Police.
