Bandera County Sheriff Warns of Scam Calls Impersonating Deputies

Bandera County residents have reported receiving phone calls from individuals claiming to be officers, investigators, or representatives from the Bandera County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO). The callers assert that the person on the line missed jury duty and now has an active arrest warrant. They then request payment information or advise the person to pay warrant fees using debit cards, credit cards, gift cards, or cash.

BCSO emphasized that they do not request payment information over the phone or ask for cash to be brought to the office to resolve warrants. Any legitimate warrant notifications are sent exclusively via traditional USPS mail and not through calls, texts, or emails.

The Sheriff’s Office urges anyone who receives such suspicious communication to report it directly to BCSO at 830-796-3771.
