The City of Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department’s “Kerrville Eclipse Festival” received top honors in the 2024 TFEA/Kaliff Best In Texas Awards Competition, earning accolades for Best New Festival/Event and Best Commemorative Poster.
The Texas Festivals and Events Association (TFEA) recognized the festival for its creative vision, community engagement, and impactful marketing. The Best New Festival/Event - Gold award highlights the event's inaugural success, while the Best Commemorative Poster - Silver award, designed by Dr. Tyler Nordgren, was praised for its artistic and storytelling appeal.
The festival’s awards bring the department’s total to six honors at regional, state, and international levels for eclipse planning efforts.
“We are deeply honored to receive these prestigious awards,” said Rosa Ledesma, assistant director of Parks and Recreation. “Our commemorative poster played a crucial role in our marketing campaign and perfectly captured the festival's spirit.”
