On November 26, 2024, Alfredo Xavier Marmolejo, a teacher at Excelled Montessori Preschool in Northwest Bexar County, was arrested after video footage surfaced showing him assaulting three two-year-old children. Bexar County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the preschool after reports of inappropriate behavior by Marmolejo.
Investigators reviewed surveillance video from inside the classroom, which captured Marmolejo using physical force on the toddlers. The footage showed him dragging one child by the arm, slamming the child onto a chair, and later slapping another child on the back of the head, causing the child to fall to the floor. Marmolejo was also seen walking into a third child, causing the child to fall and hit their head on a table.
When questioned by authorities, Marmolejo claimed that he did not think his actions were severe and that his emotions "got the best of him."
Marmolejo, who faces three counts of injury to a child, was arrested by the Sheriff’s Top Offenders Program (STOP) and booked into the Bexar County Jail. Investigators are seeking additional information from the public and have urged anyone with relevant details to contact the Sheriff's Office.
