Early Tuesday morning, January 7, 2025, Guadalupe County Deputies responded to reports of an unwanted subject in the 1200 block of Haberle Road in Seguin. The area had recently been under extra patrols due to complaints of suspicious vehicles, possible illegal hunting, and trespassing.
Deputies located a Dodge Ram pickup on the complainant’s property and attempted to detain the driver. However, the suspect, later identified as Benjamin Morales of Seguin, evaded detention, leading deputies on a high-speed pursuit. The chase ended when Morales returned to his residence, where deputies conducted a high-risk traffic stop and took him into custody.
Morales was found armed with two handguns and in possession of methamphetamine. He was transported to the Guadalupe County Adult Detention Center and faces multiple charges, including Evading Arrest/Detention with a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Carry of a Weapon, and Criminal Trespass.
