This week, two San Antonio citizens were commended for their heroic actions in assisting a San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) officer in distress.
On November 9, 2024, an SAPD officer attempted to arrest a wanted suspect. During the arrest, the suspect began to resist and attempted to seize the officer's weapon. Observing the struggle, the two citizens immediately rushed to the officer's aid.
Their courageous and selfless actions helped subdue the suspect, preventing the situation from escalating further and likely preventing serious injury. Their swift intervention was recognized for demonstrating a willingness to assist without concern for their own safety.
