Mark S. Caronna, a highly experienced law enforcement professional and certified Crisis Chaplain, will be conducting a Personal Safety Workshop free of charge for residents of Bandera. The workshop will take place on Friday, July 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the American Legion Post 157 located at 205 12th Street.
Designed to educate attendees on safeguarding themselves and their loved ones, the workshop will provide essential information on various aspects of personal safety. Caronna, a 30-year TCOLE licensed police officer and current school counselor for grades K-8, brings a wealth of expertise to the event.
The workshop will cover a wide range of safety topics, including staying safe at home, while driving, in public settings, and online. Attendees can expect to gain valuable insights into practical measures that can be taken to enhance personal security in these areas. Additionally, Caronna will delve into the profiles of both active shooters and sexual predators, enabling attendees to recognize potential threats and take appropriate precautions.
It is important to note that this is not a hands-on self-defense class. The workshop will focus on providing information and strategies rather than physical training. Due to the sensitive nature of the presentation, the event is intended for adults only. Caronna and the organizers kindly request that all attendees be 17 years of age and older.
With his educational background in religion and psychology, Caronna is uniquely qualified to address the complex issues surrounding personal safety and crisis management. His vast experience in law enforcement, combined with his role as a certified Crisis Chaplain with Crisis Chaplains of America, lends a compassionate and knowledgeable perspective to the workshop.
Residents of Bandera are encouraged to take advantage of this valuable opportunity to learn from an expert in the field of personal safety. By attending the workshop, community members can acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to protect themselves and their loved ones in today's ever-changing world.
