Shooting Erupts After Road Rage Incident in South Bexar County; Suspect on the Run

On Saturday morning, January 25th, around 9:00 AM, Bexar County deputies responded to a call about a shooting near Southside High School in South Bexar County. According to reports, the incident began as a traffic altercation between two vehicles traveling southbound on Roosevelt Avenue. The situation escalated when a driver in a black Chevrolet SUV brandished a weapon at the other driver and continued pursuing them.

At one point, the victim's vehicle collided with a third vehicle, whose driver, unaware of the ongoing altercation, was sideswiped. This driver then joined the pursuit, resulting in a chaotic chase involving three vehicles traveling south on Roosevelt Avenue.

Eventually, all three vehicles came to a stop. The driver of the third vehicle that had been sideswiped confronted the suspect in the black SUV to discuss the collision. Without warning, the suspect in the SUV approached both drivers and shot the victim in the confrontation. The victim suffered a non-life-threatening injury and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The suspect then fled the scene, and deputies are currently canvassing the area in search of the suspect. Investigators continue to work on the case, and no further details on the suspect's identity have been released at this time.
