On Tuesday, February 4, Bandera Middle School was placed under a "Secure and Hold/Lock Out" at the recommendation of the Bandera County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) as deputies searched for a male suspect near Main Street.
According to Bandera ISD Superintendent Gary Bitzkie, there was no direct threat to the school, students, or staff. The precautionary measure was taken due to the location of the law enforcement activity.
By 4:05 p.m., BCSO advised the school to lift the lockdown after securing the situation.
