Comal County Courts Hand Down Lengthy Sentences in Multiple Felony Cases

The Comal County District Attorney’s Office has announced the sentencing of several individuals in a series of felony cases, ranging from aggravated assault and drug trafficking to sex offender registration violations.

Jimmy Bryan, 26, of Surfside, TX, received a 60-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. He also received a concurrent 20-year sentence for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. Due to an affirmative finding by the court that Bryan used a firearm during the assaults, he will be required to serve at least half of his sentence before parole eligibility. Bryan has a history of violent crime and was on parole at the time of these offenses. He is also currently serving a 75-year sentence out of Harris County for Aggravated Assault of a Public Servant.

Raul Aragon, 46, of Schertz, TX, was sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The court also made an affirmative finding of a deadly weapon, requiring Aragon to serve at least half of his sentence before parole. The charges stemmed from an August 27, 2024 incident in New Braunfels where Aragon, a previously convicted sex offender recently released from prison for arson, threatened a man with a knife along IH 35.

Glenn Burns, 53, of Canyon Lake, TX, received a 25-year prison sentence for Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine (over 200 grams). He also received a concurrent maximum 2-year sentence in state jail for Illegal Dumping, which was investigated after neighbors reported significant trash buildup, including drug paraphernalia, on his property. Burns had a prior federal drug conviction.

Shawn Brown, 36, of Tonasket, WA, was sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine (over 4 grams) and ten counts of Bail Jumping. In a separate case, he received a concurrent 20-year sentence for Possession of Methamphetamine (under 1 gram) and three counts of Endangering a Child. Brown is identified as a Peckerwood gang member with a prior criminal history.

Johnathan Zavala, 37, of Austin, TX, pleaded guilty to Burglary of Habitation and received a 15-year prison sentence. He also received the maximum 2-year state jail sentence for Theft of a Firearm, to be served concurrently. Zavala is currently serving a prison sentence for Murder and Aggravated Robbery out of Travis County.

Robbie Goodman, Sr., 60, of Moore, TX, was sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements. Due to his prior felony convictions, including Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and Burglary, he was sentenced as a Habitual Offender. Goodman, a registered sex offender since his 2021 release from prison for previous sexual assault convictions, moved to Comal County but later moved to San Antonio without proper notification.

Analee Gonzalez, 28, of New Braunfels, TX, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance. At the time of this offense, she was on felony probation for a prior drug possession charge. She admitted to violating her probation, which was subsequently revoked, resulting in a 10-year concurrent prison sentence for the original probation offense.

Nicolas Rodriguez, 26, of New Braunfels, received a 3-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to Repeated Violation of a Protective Order.

Elanda Crawford, 51, of San Antonio, TX, was sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to Credit Card or Debit Card Abuse of an Elderly Individual. Crawford has prior felony convictions for Engage in Organized Criminal Activity and Assault on a Public Servant.

The charges stemmed from a high-speed pursuit in January 2024 involving a stolen vehicle, where Stracener, with multiple outstanding warrants, endangered the lives of citizens and law enforcement before being apprehended in San Antonio.
