Bandera County Authorities Apprehend Suspect in High-Speed Pursuit

Caleb Leutzinger

After weeks of relentless searching, law enforcement officials in Bandera County have successfully apprehended a suspect believed to be connected to a series of alleged crimes. Caleb Leutzinger, a resident of Bandera, was arrested earlier today and now faces multiple charges, including Motion to Revoke Probation - Evading with a Vehicle, Terroristic Threat, Escape, and Evading Arrest.

The investigation began on June 24 when authorities initiated a high-speed pursuit of a truck reported stolen from 74-year-old Mike Barr, a local resident of Bandera. The chase, which ensued through the streets of Bandera County, ultimately led authorities to Lake Medina Shores. However, they lost sight of both the stolen vehicle and the suspect during the pursuit.

Undeterred by the setback, law enforcement officers diligently worked to gather evidence and secure an arrest warrant for Leutzinger. Following leads and tips from the community, authorities focused their search efforts throughout Bandera County, including the Holiday Villages in Medina County.

The breakthrough in the case came on July 17, 2023, when Leutzinger, once again attempting to evade arrest, was apprehended by law enforcement officers at approximately 1:22 p.m. in Lakehills. He was promptly taken into custody and booked into the Bandera County Jail.

Bandera County Chief Deputy Matt King addressed the media following the successful arrest, emphasizing the ongoing nature of the investigation. "There will be additional charges that we will be seeking," said King. While specifics regarding the additional charges were not disclosed, it is evident that authorities are determined to ensure all alleged crimes committed by Leutzinger are thoroughly addressed.
