Eddie Montesdeoca was arrested on August 3 and is now facing charges of murder, tampering with evidence, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The incident unfolded in the 100 block of Oak Cliff in Lakehills, where Bandera County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of a shooting. The victim, identified as Randy Knox, was discovered at the scene with gunshot wounds to his back and left armpit.
Law enforcement officers initiated an investigation, which led them to crucial surveillance footage. According to the arrest warrant affidavits, the footage depicts a heated argument between the victim, Randy Knox, and Eddie Montesdeoca. As tensions escalated, Montesdeoca allegedly brandished a handgun and aimed it at Knox. The situation further escalated when Montesdeoca was seen pistol-whipping Knox on the video.
In an attempt to escape the altercation, Knox fled from Montesdeoca, who then reportedly fired several shots at him. Knox was struck by the gunfire and fell to the ground, succumbing to his injuries.
Additional footage from the scene captures Linda Hernandez entering the fray. She is seen approaching the fallen victim with a pipe, which she allegedly used to strike Knox, according to the arrest affidavit.
Following the altercation, both Montesdeoca and Hernandez fled the scene. However, authorities were able to track them down, leading to their apprehension a short time later. The suspects were subsequently transported to the Bandera County Jail.
