Get ready for a weekend of excitement as the annual Bandera Round-Up kicks off on Saturday, September 2nd. The iconic Bandera Round-Up parade will kick-start the festivities, making its way down Main Street at 10 a.m. This year, due to the heat, the traditional cattle drive will take a break, but there's no shortage of entertainment planned.
Folks of all ages are invited to come and enjoy a range of activities. The historic courthouse lawn will be transformed into a hub of fun, featuring live music, captivating storytelling, engaging kids' activities, a shopping extravaganza, and entertaining shows. It's a perfect opportunity for families and friends to come together and revel in the spirit of the event.
As the sun begins to set, the action shifts to Mansfield Park for the thrilling Bandera Ranch Rodeo. The rodeo lineup includes a series of heart-pounding events, from steer roping (muggin') to wild cow milking and even the adorable mutton bustin'. Don't miss the captivating performance by the True Women Drill Team, showcasing precision and skill.
The excitement doesn't stop there. On Sunday, September 3rd, the Bandera Round-Up continues with a focus on arts and crafts, live entertainment, and a vibrant atmosphere on the courthouse lawn. Families can explore creative displays and enjoy live performances against the backdrop of Bandera's rich history.
The grand finale takes place back at Mansfield Park with the Women's Ranch Rodeo. This action-packed event features a variety of thrilling competitions, including the pony express, cowhide race, steer branding, and of course, the wild cow milking and the stampede.
For those eager to join in on the rodeo action, mutton bustin' registration starts at 6 p.m., and the rodeos themselves kick off at 8 p.m. Admission is budget-friendly, with tickets priced at $10 for adults, $5 for kids aged 7-12, veterans, and active military personnel with valid ID. Children aged 6 and under can enter for free. Tickets can be conveniently purchased at the gate, ensuring a hassle-free entry to all the excitement.
