On Thursday, September 7, 2023, at approximately 4:43 PM, officers from the Hondo Police Department were dispatched to Dollar General located at 2541 19th St in response to an incident. Upon their arrival, officers discovered that an employee had been assaulted during a theft.
The Hondo Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division promptly assumed control of the investigation. Detectives worked diligently to identify a suspect in the case.
At approximately 6:50 PM, detectives successfully apprehended 27-year-old Mellysa Rose Macias of Castroville as the alleged perpetrator of the robbery. Subsequently, Macias was booked into the Medina County Jail. According to police records, Macias has a history of crimes in Bexar County.
