Comal County Sheriff's Deputy Arrested by Boerne Police on Domestic Violence Charge

A Comal County Sheriff’s Office deputy, Jonathan Castaneda, age 32, was arrested by Boerne police last weekend on a domestic violence charge. Castaneda was taken into custody and booked into the Kendall County Jail on Saturday, September 30, on charges of assault causing bodily injury-family violence.

The arrest followed a domestic disturbance call received by the Boerne Police Department at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, at a residence on Calk Lane in Boerne, according to BPD spokesperson Chris Walk. Upon arrival, officers conducted an investigation, leading to Castaneda's arrest.

Castaneda was booked into the Kendall County Jail at around 8 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, and was released at about 11 a.m. on Sunday, October 1.

In response to the incident, Comal County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Jennifer Smith stated in an email to the Herald that Castaneda has been placed on "paid leave suspension pending an internal investigation."

Castaneda had been employed at the Comal County Jail since 2020 and later joined the patrol division in June of 2021, as confirmed by the CCSO.
